I really have to try out Wii Sports Resort. I only tested Motion Plus with Red Steel 2 and found it underwhelming and unnecessary.

I saw this at E3 and it looked pretty damned good.

Looks like a solid month of gaming. Not too many triple A titles, but I wouldn't have time for them anyway. Batman plus some cool downloadable games sounds solid to me.

RE5 had a lame story, but so did RE4. I never played the earlier ones, so I can't comment on those.

Gears 2 had an awful story, but again, so did the first. Though the giant worm makes Gears 2 all kinda of awesome.

I could not agree more about Mirror's Edge. The story in that game was a huge disappointment as the art style had me intrigued and I was hoping for something with a little more depth. Some of my friends are huge fans of that game and their defense is t...

What about Super Mario Bros? Altering the very platforms themselves by breaking bricks with your head was a pretty mind-blowing thing for its time.

I never played Too Human, but everyone I know who did said that it was interesting, even if it didn't live up to its potential. But it was planned as a trilogy. I'd like to see them continue the story and improve upon the follies of the first. It definitely sounds like it was building up to something a lot more interesting than Dead Space 2; More Monsters in Space.

I want to play this, but my comp can't handle it and I hear the Wii port is a bit shoddy and more expensive. Might buy it anyway though.

I'm a fan of bringing Westerns back if only for their great facial hair and hats.

Does anyone else think that Skynet sounds like a cell phone company?

I'm going to have to agree to disagree. At first I didn't like Cole's voice, but I adapted to it rather quickly, and grew to like it quite a bit. It's a bit one-note, but so was David Hayter as Solid Snake. At the very least, they got that note down well enough.

I liked Cole's design too. His hipster chic outfit looked fitting for a messenger boy in his mid 20s.

And while I hated the way Zeke looks and found his voice a little over-the-top, I got used to that a...

Duke Nuk'em 3D was a classic. I'm still holding out hopes for Duke Nuk'em Forever.

Great list. I like the idea of Sephiroth being unable to sheeth his sword and taking several seconds to pull it out while everyone else could just shoot him in the head.

I played the first couple hours of this when a friend brought it over. It was pretty good, but felt a bit bland to me in its mechanics. I'll probably pick it up when it hits the magical $20 point though.

I think games need to take a less-is-more approach to story-telling. This article cites Cannon Fodder as an example of this. I've never played that particular game, but can see what the author is getting at. I don't think fleshing things out in the way JRPGs have done is necessarily the right direction.

Personally, the most moving moment I've had in a game was during MGS4's climax. You all know the moment I'm talking about. I realize the hypocrisy of me saying this as that g...

I'm sorry, but I just don't have any interest in faking being a DJ.

I'm reminded of what Eskil Steenberg said about why we game, "To solve simple problems, because our real world problems are too complicated." Hard games last us longer and give us more to focus on. You need to focus all your attention to a particularly devious game in order to best it, and when you do, you've felt like you've really accomplished something.

Oh, and I totally beat that Ninja Turtles game back in the day. I doubt I'd have the patience to now though.

I never played Wing Commander, but I loved Rogue Leader and was surprised that Lucasarts stopped doing Star Wars flight sims in the current generation. I mean, sure, Rebel Strike was a step back, but imagine doing the trench run in current gen graphics. We need this now!

As the world knows, I'm not the biggest MGS fanboy, but this seriously couldn't have gone to a better candidate.
